First Unreal Engine 4 hurdle was to figure out grid snapping. Upon opening up the level editor the snapping options were unit increments of 5. I have a some prior knowledge and experience working with Unreal 4 and also a little UDK. That said, it was my understanding that the default grid snapped to powers of 2. Unfortunately, with UE4.9 this was not the case. However with maybe 45min of looking through forums and docs I found the appropriate check box which can be found in Advanced Settings>Level Editor>Viewports.
